Watch Barack Obama wonderfully shut down toy gender stereotypes

EARLIER THIS MONTH, Barack Obama participated in a Toys For Tots events organised by his wife Michelle.

While sorting toys for boys and girls at the toy drive, Obama could be seen making a special point of placing toys traditionally aimed at boys in the bin for girls.

After he placed a basketball in the girls’ bin, he could be heard saying:

I want to make sure some girls play some ball.

Similarly, when an onlooker openly queried whether girls would like Lego, he replied, “Girls don’t like toys?” At the end of the video, he explains:

I’m just trying to break down these gender stereotypes.

A man after our own heart.
